Weekend with the Douthit's

Our buds Jeff and Dana decided to head to the 505 for a mini-vaca. It was so fun! We really hit the local hot spots hard and the new guest room was glad to make some friends. :)

Need a place to stay? Stay at our house, the price is right!

MMM...Sausage and chicken ka-bobs for lunch!

Lunch on the patio. Poor Jeff was tired from fighting crime the night before they got here.

El Pinto for dinner. Classic New Mexico.

Go Topes!

Frontier sweet roll after the game. To.Die.For.

On Sunday after church, the MEN decided to hike the La Luz trail up the Sandia Mountains. Dana and I had a lovely afternoon shopping in Nob Hill.

Jeff being dramatic on the hike.

Beautiful sunset!

Dana and I. :)

Oh yeah, it was our anniversary! Happy ONE YEAR my love! We had our wedding cake for dessert. :)

Dana and I playing the penny slots while the boys played blackjack.

Dion's pizza...Can't beat it!

Dad's Retirement Party.

So, my dear ol Dad has been teaching U.S. History and coaching baseball for 30-some years. He retired from teaching this year, but will not give up the coaching glory just yet. Mom and I had a party for him a few weeks ago, and it was a really good time.

His best buddy of all time Don, and his wife Sue, surprised Dad for the fiesta!

Dad insisted on the baseball cake. He kept using the "It's MY party," line with Mom and I.

"The Old Guys"

Congratulations, DAD!

Love Trip

Ryan and I went to Denver last week for a little anniversary love trip. It was great fun.

The park in the middle of downtown. The squirrels were very friendly.

We visited the US Mint. It was really neat. Did you know that 20% of the nation's gold is stored there? Now you do!

AND...No one has ever even attempted to break into the mint.
We think Hollywood could cash in on that plot line.

Nick Boyden and his nasty stash joined us for dinner one night.

We hiked around the Eldorado Springs was beautiful!

Ryan showed me a couple new lifts at the looks like they're working...

Look very closely....Closer...Can you see the climbers?

Timer photo on the bridge.

We went up to Golden and visited the Coors Brewery. Ryan is enjoying the audio tour.

The largest brew kettle room in the universe. That is a lot of beer.

At the end of the tour they let you taste the beers. How generous!

Ryan and I bought a grill recently, and decided to put it to good use with our friends.

We made the "mistake," of buying the grill not already assembled, due to our surplus of time. It only took us, and by "us," I mean Ryan about 2 hours. Well done, darling.

The men were occupied with the basketball game.

Roses from our garden!

The ladies. :)

Matt and Ryan are going to be bun models. No pun intended.
