An Encouragement.

"So if today you missed opportunities to show a tender love, or if you neglected to pray for your children, or if you were impatient with them, and even if you lost your smile and feel like a complete failure as a mother-take heart! God's grace is sufficient for you. Look to the cross where Christ died. There He purchased forgiveness for our sins and power to grow in godliness. Not one of us is equal to this task of mothering, but He will help us in our weakness. God will provide all the grace we need to love our children tenderly."

Almost Summer.

Baby Cooper is 6 weeks old today. Time is flying! A friend told me a few weeks ago when checking to see how I was doing, 'The adjustment to motherhood is no joke.' And boy was she right! The past 6 weeks have been the best and hardest of our lives, and I'm glad to say I'm feeling much less like a crazy person, and more like a real human. :) All of that to say, Coop has had a great few weeks! He is still eating great and is sleeping 5 hour stretches at night, which is darn near heaven to me!

 Meeting Uncle Brad!!

It's time for the garden again...This year we planted three variations of green chile, banana peppers, bell peppers, tomatoes, basil and cucumber. Oh, and three variations of pumpkins. I'm stoked. The top right picture is of the succulent garden I got at Costco. Isn't she a beauty?

Cooper and I love going on walks everyday, and Dad recently put the jogging stroller together for us! I have my 6 week appointment this week, so hopefully miss midwife will give me the green light on jogging! Girlfriend has been pretty much sedentary for the last ten months and can't wait to get back in some shape!

The Track season ended last weekend and Ryan's team got 5th at State. Last year they got 16th, so I'd say that's quite an accomplishment! We are very proud of him!

Daddy only has one more week of school left.  We live for summers around here, and are so glad he gets a couple months off to play. Ryan and Coop are two peas in a pod! I am in love.

Mother's Day.

Psalm 113

Praise the Lord! Praise,
O servants of the Lord, Praise the name of the Lord!
Blessed be the name of the Lord
from this time forth and forevermore!
From the rising of the sun to its setting,
the name of the Lord is to be praised!
The Lord is high above all nations,
and his glory above the heavens!
Who is like the Lord our God,
who is seated on high,
who looks far down
on the heavens and the earth?
He raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the ash heap,
to make them sit with princes,
with the princes of his people.
He gives the barren woman a home,
making her the joyous mother of children.
Praise the Lord!

Happy Mother's Day from the Gilmores!

One Month.

Baby Cooper is one month old today!
  • He is more alert! He follows our voices and looks up at me when feeding.
  • We think he's starting to learn his name, he responds when we say 'Hi Baby Cooper!'
  • He's starting to smile more, especially when drifting off to sleep.
  • He's still eating every 3 hours during the day and 3-4 hours at night.
  • He farts like an old man!
  •  Last week we traded out the swaddle blanket for the official Swaddleme sleep sack. It's kinda like a baby straight jacket...:) He sleeps much more soundly in between feedings.
  • He's filling out the newborn clothes and newborn diapers-Size 1's are right around the corner!
  • His chicken legs are a thing of the past-he's really chunking up! We got on our home scale with and without him and it says he's 8 lbs. We know it's not perfectly accurate, but I'm sure it's pretty close!
 Coop getting his guns up!

His umbilical cord stump fell off and we can officially take submerging baths...He's still not a fan!

 Big yawn!

Daddy and I took Cooper with us to Pop Pop's and to the park. He loves mango, can't you tell?

Baby's first day at church. He's wearing his Sunday best...a necktie onesie from Aunt Jen.

Meeting Great-Grandma Lahvic. She was so sweet with him, and even asked, 'Is it a boy or girl?'

I saw this idea on pinterest...Look how much I've grown!
