30.

My sweet Ryan turned 30 yesterday. We had such a lovely time celebrating our Daddy!

Celebrating with our community group Sunday night.

With the help of Ryan's friends and family, I surprised him with 30 balloons and messages from his peeps when he got home from practice yesterday morning.

Reading his cards.

 Our festive living room.

 Some were quite funny!

The balloons provided sweet Cooper quite a day of entertainment!

Ryan's dad gave him a very special gift-a rifle that was his grandfather's.

Then I surprised him with a night away at the Hyatt Tamaya. Cooper stayed with Grammy and Papa JJ. We missed our little man, but it was such a nice evening just the two of us.

 Delicious dinner!

 Gorgeous view!

The many faces of my 30 year-old!

I love you so much Ry...Happy Birthday!

One Man's Treasure Pt. 3

Here are a few more of our treasures from the week!

Was this anyone else's first cell phone? So great.

Doilies galore.

Mommy's little helper!

Antique clock. Totally rad.

This fake plastic parakeet chips and moves. Creepy.

Okay, so this was not found in Grandpa's cave, but the idea was a true treasure. With Cooper growing and changing so quickly, I wanted something that was easy to change pictures out. I went to our old girl pinterest and got this idea! I still think I'm going to paint the frame black to go with the rest of my dark frames and furniture.

And this beautiful necklace was my anniversary gift from Ryan. I love the 'C' for Baby Coop!

One Man's Treasure Pt. 2

Day Two of the move provided a plethora of interesting trash and treasures.

I can almost guarantee those do not all belong to my grandfather...Trash.

Medical supplies. Just in case he needs to take someone's blood or flush their IV with saline. Trash.

 Pretty China! Treasure.

My grandmother's cross stitched rules. I love this! Number 7 and 9 are my favorites. I also love her inverted 'Js' on her name! Treasure.

My mom's eyes lit up when she pulled this out-it's the baby plate she used when she was a kid. I know it looks like a dog bowl, but the little froggy sticks out and makes sure little Johnny eats his peas! Treasure.

 Tiffany wine glasses- Definite treasure!

Another cross stitch of 'Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep.' I think it would be pretty framed in a little girl's room. No, I'm not pregnant. :) Treasure.

3 months.

Cooper is 3 months old today!
A day in the life of our sweet buggy goes a little like this:

Wake and eat between 6:30 and 7am. Yes, he's been sleeping through the night (about 9 hours) for a few weeks now. Yay! He wakes up a very cheery little boy.

Mom then dons her running (okay, right now they're mostly walking) shoes and we hit the trail for about 45 minutes. Cooper falls asleep on our walk and I can normally transfer him to the crib to finish his nap when we get home.

As soon as we get back from our walk, I pump. I'm working on storing milk for when school starts in August.

10am-Buddy Boy eats again and is up for about an hour. He plays with his animal friends on his play mat and talks our heads off. We're working on tummy time-he prefers his back!

Between 11 and 11:30 I put him down in his crib for another nap. He will sometimes fuss for a few minutes when we put him down, but most of the time he goes down easy peasy.

1pm he eats his lunch. Up again for another hour to play or look around in the boppy. He's a super happy little man!
2pm down for another nap-he sleeps super hard for this one!

4pm Coop eats again! He plays for a little longer after this feeding. He'll take a 45 minute or 1 hour nap after this feeding.
7pm He eats, we wipe him down with a washcloth, change his diaper and swaddle him up. We then rock and listen to a Bible story read by Daddy Boy. We say our prayers and kiss our sweetie goodnight.

At around 10pm I give him a 'dreamfeed,' where I don't really wake him up, but top him off for the evening. Cooper then sleeps 8-9 hours. Sometimes we have to re-swaddle him in the middle of the night, but he normally stays asleep beautifully.

Of course there are many days during the week that we run errands or visit friends and family and Coop will start or end his naps in his carseat. I love our little routine, that I can really predict his needs for the day and know that if he's getting fussy, he's either tired or hungry.
Another visit last week to see Great Grandma Lahvic
Here are a few videos of Cooper 'talking'!

  • According to our home scale, Coop is about 12lbs. He's still in Size 1 diapers and 3 month clothes.
  • He is getting better and better at finding and going to town on his little thumb. He definitely prefers it to his paci!
  • Last week was his first Sunday in the nursery at church, and he did great!
  • My hair is falling out like crazy. I know this is normal, but that doesn't make the shower any less shocking...

It has been such a blessing to have an extended maternity leave thanks to summer break, and having Ryan home also has been so sweet. It's hard to imagine loving this little guy any more...God has truly blessed our little family!
