Cooper's Birthday & Easter 2014.

For Coop's birthday this year, we followed suit from last year and had donuts then headed to the aquarium.
He wanted a red donut, but the closest we could get was pink. It did the trick.

 Smiling with the sting rays.

We had a picnic lunch at the botanic gardens. It was a lovely day!

 Hamming it up with mama!

We had a low-key BBQ for his birthday the following weekend with family and a few friends.

I made a few tissue paper pom poms for the patio.

We had 'Nemo' centerpieces. The petsmart employee who sold us these 29 cent swimmers was appalled at the fact that we were going to put them in a bowl. 'A bowl?! These fish need filtration!' Lady, they're 29 CENTS. I'm happy if they last through the night. Now hand over the goldfish.

We grilled out and had this delicious cake from Whole Foods. His favorite song that week was definitely 'Happy Birthday'

I had a fun time getting Cooper's Easter basket together this year. We got him a few books, some sunglasses, and some magnetic letters.

After church our families came over and Cooper hunted for eggs in the backyard.

Our Spring has been fast and furious and we're all looking forward to the school year winding down and those lazy summer days!

 Happy Easter love the Gilmores!

20 Weeks.

Can you believe this baby girl is half-way cooked?! Me neither!

I went to Old Navy yesterday after work to check out their disappointing maternity section and thought I'd snap a belly pic.

We went to the OB last week and our little miss is looking great. Her heartbeat was 150 and I'm measuring right on track. I keep waiting for my energy to come back, to no avail. When my OB asked if I was able to exercise, I asked her if chasing Kindergarteners twice a week and my 2-year-old the other days counted. She wasn't convinced, but I sure as heck am.

  • I've been craving sandwiches and chips this pregnancy, and all things salty/savory.
  • I'm up at least twice a night to pee.
  • My low back and hips kill me, so I'm going to a new chiropractor this Friday in desperate search for relief.
  • I don't have nearly as many headaches as I did with Cooper.
  • I feel her moving and kicking all the time, and it's definitely the best part of being pregnant!
Thanks for praying for our little sweet pea!

Cooper is TWO!

I can hardly believe it. I feel like I was just writing his first birthday blog post! Our Cooper Boy is two years old and loving every minute of it.

We haven't been to the doc yet to get his exact stats, but he's around 26 lbs and around 33 inches. He wakes up every morning saying 'Cooper needs to play!' This very much sums up our boy...He's very busy talking and running and climbing all day long. He knows all of his letters (favorites are W&M), numbers (faves are 5&2),  and colors (fave-red). It's been so much fun watching him soak up the world around him.

Cooper loves: bubbles, cars- especially his camper (think Breaking Bad) and firetruck, and playing with his parking garage.
The parking garage keeps him occupied for a LONG time!

He also loves Nemo, socks (particularly red ones), blocks, books, fruit of any kind, Papa JJ's red truck, the color Red, stickers (esp from Trader Joe's) 'Jingle Bells' (the song), and Dierks Bentley's 'I Hold On'  (he refers to it as 'the favorite song.' He loves coloring with crayons and is warming up to the idea of Play-doh. His favorite books include Brown Bear, Very Hungry Caterpillar, anything Dr. Seuss, the Pigeon books, Where the Wild Things Are, Dinosaur Roar, and his Bible.

 Wearing mommy's shoes.

 Playing with his friend Lydia.

 Captain Bubble Beard.

Playing with magnets at Explora with his buddy Micah.

Catching ladybugs. Okay, maybe this ladybug caught him ;)

Playing with pizza dough while mom cooks dinner...That cheesy grin!

 Watching daddy's track meet!

I know he didn't know what he's saying, but from day one when asked if he was going to have a brother or sister, he's always said he was going to have a baby sister.

Over the past few weeks we've bit the bullet and potty trained the boy. He still wears a diaper at nap and night time, but he stays dry most of the day. M&Ms, marshmallows, and Spider Man stickers have kept this potty-using boy motivated! I really don't think there's anything cuter than a toddler in super-hero undies, do you?

Cooper is learning to obey mama and daddy and assert his independence appropriately ;) He's such a sweet and tender-hearted boy who loves to snuggle and give kisses.

Cooper, you make us laugh each day and brighten our lives more than you'll ever know. We love you very much! Mama & Daddy
